DescriptionThe Compliance Associate is responsible for assisting CMMG suppressor assembly and ensuring ATF compliance for all CMMG items. This role serves as a crucial backup for ATF compliance-related matters and involves overseeing compliance with federal, state, and local firearms regulations while adhering to CMMG's policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to operate independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment, effectively handling documentation, submissions, assembly, and serialization processes.Responsibilities:
- Assist the sales and assembly of in-house suppressors, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Identify and implement corrective actions for process and system issues related to firearms compliance, leading remediation efforts.
- Submit and manage vendor marking variances to ensure compliance with ATF requirements.
- Complete and file necessary ATF forms for the manufacture and sale of suppressors, including Forms 2, 3, and 5.
- Conduct in-house monthly audits of serialized inventory to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Serve as a liaison with ATF representatives during in-person audits and assist with compliance inquiries.
- Support daily NFA allocations and maintain accurate records for NFA manufacturing reports.
- Manage and execute ATF traces, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of information.
- Perform serialized cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Assist the management of open NFA orders and allocations, ensuring timely processing.
- Assist in rectifying discrepancies related to serial numbers and records.
- Collaborate with shipping and sales teams to resolve shipping and return discrepancies.
- Draft and submit letters to the ATF regarding scrapped NFA items and configuration changes.
- Remove NFA holds when products become available and ATF approvals are obtained.
- Work with the accounting department to address serial numbers and account discrepancies.
- Aid in the systematic and physical scrapping of serialized items in compliance with regulations.
- Adjust acquisition and disposition (A&D) records for scrapped firearms to maintain accurate inventory.
- Report lost, missing, or stolen firearms to the ATF in accordance with regulations.
- Ensure all required licensing is renewed and compliant with local, state, and federal laws.
- Prepare and maintain quarterly and yearly reports as requested by government agencies.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of firearms laws, regulations, and ATF compliance requirements.
- Experience with NFA items and suppressor assembly processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in a compliance-related role within the firearms industry.
- Familiarity with ATF audit processes and procedures.
- Background in manufacturing or assembly processes related to firearms.
