Mercy Living Center is a true home away from home, located in beautiful Tupper Lake, nestled in the heart of the Adirondack Park. Our facility provides 24-hour care along with many other services to ensure you or your loved one will receive the highest quality of care. Mercy Living Center is an easily accessible 60 bed skilled nursing facility providing both long and short term care.

Infection Preventionist (IP):
The infection preventionist is responsible for the facility infection prevention and control program (IPCP), which includes the effective direction, management, and operation of the infection prevention program, including the education of facility staff members and independent practitioners, as well as consulting with the county and State department of health.
The IP is responsible for the facilitys activities aimed at preventing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). The IP systematically collects, analyzes, and interprets health data in order to plan, implement, evaluate, and disseminate appropriate public health practices. The IP conducts educational and training activities for healthcare workers through instruction and dissemination of information on healthcare practices.
Employee Health/Education Coordination:
Coordinates education and employee health for all departments. Liaises with AH Education Director and oversees LMS Health Stream for Mercy Living Center. Collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to ensure regulatory requirements with employee onboarding, orientation processes and competencies are met. Liaises with Employee Health to coordinate site employee health requirements and needs.
Quality Assurance:
Responsible for overseeing the facility Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs to ensure compliance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Requirements of Participation (RoP) and facility standards. Assists all departments in implementing a continuous quality improvement program. Responsible for maintaining up-to-date practices and for continuous monitoring and education of the facility-wide program.
