Global Compliance Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm s culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm s enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm s second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm s compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm s responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. We look for those who possess sound judgment, curiosity, and are able to adapt to a changing regulatory landscape.OverviewThis position will play a key role on the Fair and Responsible Banking Compliance Team by focusing on statistical testing and analysis, data collection and manipulation, and monitoring to detect and mitigate fair lending and UDAAP risk, in addition to ensuring the Bank is meeting its Community Reinvestment Act obligations. The successful candidate will bring experience in understanding and explaining advanced statistical models and concepts, in addition to data extraction, manipulation and aggregation. This position will report directly to the Deputy Fair Lending Officer and will require strategic and critical thinking, regulatory expertise and an understanding of consumer and small business financial services. Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesConduct statistical analyses and bias testing to review financial decision outcomes and models for fair and responsible banking compliance risk;Extraction, manipulation, and preparation of data for purposes of regulatory reporting and monitoring, particularly with respect to meeting the Bank s Community Reinvestment Act requirements;Prepare presentations and reports to explain statistical results and analytic insights in both non-technical as well as technical format to various stakeholders such as Bank senior management, cross-functional teams, Legal and Compliance colleagues and leadership, and regulatory examiners;Conduct focused analytical research to advance GS Bank s fair and responsible banking analytical skills and tools;Provide support to Fair and Responsible Banking Analytics Team pertaining to program management, documentation of processes and practices, and reporting. Basic Qualifications5+ years of relevant professional experience in financial services, modeling, data analysis, or statistics, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education;Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science;Strong computing skills, particularly statistical and high-performance computing / data manipulation in SAS, R, python or other statistical packages or software;Comfortable working in cross-functional teams, explaining complex technical concepts across variety of stakeholders and audiences;Entrepreneurial spirit, strong attention to details, and able to take the lead on projects.Preferred QualificationsExcellent written, verbal and analytical communication skills, with experience articulating complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging;Ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple tasks with effective time-management and influencing skills;Prior experience conducting statistical testing and developing methodologies used for analytical testing or monitoring, particularly with respect to financial regulatory compliance;Capable of working on cross-organizational projects and collaboratively partnering with other business functions;Experience working or consulting for a bank, a consumer financial product company such as a non-depository lender or fintech, a banking regulator or other similar government regulatory or enforcement agencies;Conceptual and quantitative problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to effectively think creatively;Knowledge of financial industry, model development practices and regulatory standards;Knowledge of fair lending regulatory and modeling concepts ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHSAt Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
