Compliance Investigator Bowling Green State University Salary: Depends on Qualifications Job Type: Full-Time Division: Inclusion and Belonging Opening Date: 08/28/2024 Location: Main Campus (BG), OH Job Number: BGSU00542 Department: Inclusion and Belonging Closing: 9/18/2024 11:59 PM Eastern Summary The Equity and Compliance Coordinator, in partnership with other offices, will assist in coordinating a comprehensive compliance program aligned with state and federal laws and University policy and that ensures applicants, students, and employees are given equal opportunities in employment, education, and activities regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic through data collection, completion of assessments, and special projects. This position will also serve as a university investigator for complaints of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation based on any protected class/characteristic to ensure an efficient and effective response to the allegations. Essential Functions
- Investigations - Assist with conducting timely intake investigation interviews of allegations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation that fall under a variety of federal regulations such as Title VI, Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, etc. Prepares written summary of intake interviews. Conducts and manages assigned investigations as a neutral fact finder. Drafts comprehensive written investigation reports, gathers and summarizes information provided and conducts a credibility analysis. Responsible for maintaining department database/records of incoming cases. Provides weekly case status updates to the Director.
- Compliance - The Compliance Investigator will assist with reviewing and analyzing applicant pools for active job searches for compliance and equity. Will assist with preparation, and implementation of the Equal Employment (EEO) and Affirmative Action (AA) programs.
- Develop and facilitate training to university stakeholders on compliance topics such as Title VI, Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, Affirmative Action, etc.
- May partner or assist in investigations with other campus offices, including but not limited to Office of the Dean of Students, Human Resources, the Office of Title IX, or other appropriate offices.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Equal Opportunity or the Chief Inclusion Officer. Assist, as needed or assigned, with policy development, programming, and committees. Participate in local, regional and/or national professional associations or organizations. Minimum Qualifications The following Degree is required:
- Bachelor's Degree. Degree must be conferred at time of application.The following Experience is required:
- 1 year full-time professional experience as a human resources business partner, investigator, or similar roleThe following Degree is preferred:
- Master's Degree
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification or Certified Affirmative Action Professional (CAAP) or higherThe following Experience is preferred:
- Experience in Title VI, Title VII, or Title IX investigations
- Experience in state and federal compliance
