The Role:
As Compliance Lead, based either in the San Francisco Bay Area or New York, NY, you will own and drive Plannery's regulatory strategy as we scale rapidly. You will help bring innovative financial products to market while ensuring that we stay compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. You'll collaborate closely with the product, legal, and operations teams to ensure regulatory alignment amid rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead Compliance Strategy:
- Oversee compliance across Plannery's suite of products, including the payroll-linked loan and upcoming credit card.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant lending laws, banking regulations, and financial compliance standards.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and partner banks, developing policies that ensure both compliance and scalability.
Support Operational Growth:
- Collaborate with operations to create scalable, compliant processes.
- Partner with legal and product teams to identify regulatory risks and foster innovation within legal frameworks.
- Maintain compliance policies and streamline product rollouts for healthcare professionals and partners.
- Lead ongoing risk assessments and compliance monitoring efforts.
Foster Collaboration:
- Work closely with product, legal, and operations teams to ensure smooth coordination and innovation within regulatory boundaries.
Drive Innovation:
- Be a champion of creative problem-solving to find compliant paths to launch financial products that may not fit within traditional financial models.
What We're Looking For:
Experience:
- 3-5+ years of experience in compliance roles within financial services, ideally in fintech or fast-growth environments.
- Strong understanding of U.S. consumer lending laws and banking regulations. Specifically, a working knowledge of the following: BSA/AML/OFAC, UDAAP, ECOA, TILA, FCRA, EFTA, E-Sign, SCRA, MLA, TCPA, GLBA, and CAN-SPAM.
- Experience executing the following compliance programs and functions: compliance training, compliance monitoring and testing, complaint management, and third party risk management.
- Experience with financial products such as personal loans, lines of credit, credit cards, or payroll-linked services.
- Previous experience scaling compliance functions during periods of rapid business growth is highly desirable.
