Role Summary:
The Global Compliance Manager will play a pivotal role in sustaining and enhancing Kymera International's Global Compliance Program. This position is responsible for ensuring the company's adherence to legal and regulatory standards across multiple jurisdictions, with a special focus on export controls, government contracts, data privacy, and other regulatory requirements. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional leaders and support the company's alignment with EcoVadis compliance standards, all while driving business performance within the framework of global legal requirements.
Role Responsibilities:
Sustainment of the Kymera Global Compliance Program
- Regulatory Monitoring: Track legal and regulatory changes that may impact business operations. Work closely with the General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer (GC / CCO), business unit presidents, and functional leaders to identify compliance risks in areas such as export controls, sanctions, government contracts, data privacy, anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and antitrust.
- Policy and Process Development: Draft, modify, and implement company-wide compliance policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to align with business needs. Conduct gap analyses to ensure compliance with local policies and global SOPs.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of control systems, providing recommendations for improvements.
- Training: Collaborate with the GC/CCO to design and deliver compliance training for employees.
- Compliance Advice and Counseling: Offer day-to-day compliance guidance, responding to queries and ensuring all departmental compliance policies align with corporate standards.
- EcoVadis Alignment: Support the companys efforts to align its ethics and compliance practices with Covais standards.
- Export Control & Government Business Compliance Program Leadership
Export Control / Sanctions and Trade Compliance:
- Lead the design and implementation of an export compliance program in accordance with U.S. and international regulations.
- Develop and implement processes to support export control classification, valuation, and license management within key business functions.
- Manage export licenses under EAR, ITAR, and their non-U.S. equivalents.
- Oversee economic sanctions program operations, including restricted party screening.
- Address daily export, import, and regulatory compliance inquiries.
U.S. Government Procurement Regulations Support:
- Manage compliance with FAR, DFARs, and OTAs requirements.
- Provide guidance for product development, sales, and operational activities in alignment with government procurement regulations.
Role Requirements (Must-Have Skills):
- Bachelors degree in business administration or related field (graduate or JD degree preferred but not mandatory).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in compliance, with experience as a compliance manager.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs Regulations, EAR, BIS, and U.S. trade compliance laws.
- Certified Customs Specialist/Certified Export Specialist or Licensed Customs Broker preferred.
- Experience building compliance programs from the ground up within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with GDPR and global data privacy regulations.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to align compliance strategies with business objectives.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with senior and executive management.
- Proven experience working in a global, cross-functional environment.
- Certification as a compliance professional is a plus.
Time/Location:
Location: The Compliance Manage is a remote position, with the expectation of 25-30% Global travel.
Time Commitment: Full-time position with regular working hours.
