Job Description:

The University of Virginia School of Nursing is seeking two candidates for Compliance Officer (CO) positions. This 12-month staff position requires the incorporation of data management and regulatory guidelines to ensure that students are compliant with all clinical requirements using specified requirements for the School of Nursing as well as external clinical sites. Additionally, the CO will manage databases and prepare reports needed for mandated surveys and report to the Director of Compliance, Accreditation, and Enhancements and collaborate frequently with the Director of Degree Program Administration, Program Managers, Single Course Faculty Manager, Senior Contracts and Employee Compliance Coordinator for Academic Affairs, and faculty on clinical compliance issues/policies/procedures. Remote work is possible.

Responsibilities:

* Assist with the development and implementation of student policies and procedures for the School of Nursing, including but not limited to

* Criminal Background Checks

* School of Nursing requirements (e.g. certifications, licenses, immunizations, learning modules)

* Off-grounds clinical site requirements (e.g. learning modules, HIPAA documents, drug screens, etc.)

* Have awareness and make policy adjustments as needed regarding laws, rules, regulations, and policies that impact compliance requirements and initiatives

* Monitor student compliance with all applicable policies and procedures and communicate needs with students and faculty as necessary

* Coordinate the preparation of compliance reports mandated by regulatory agencies; review reports and ensure accuracy and completeness of information

* Conduct compliance awareness sessions for students

* Act as a liaison and compliance resource person to various programs and departments

* Serve on various committees as assigned or required

* Maintain a high degree of confidentiality on all sensitive information this position is privy to

* Have knowledge of Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems related to compliance

* Complete compliance related tasks assigned by the Director of Compliance, Accreditation, and Enhancement

* Comply with all Virginia and UVA policies

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree

* At least five years of relevant work experience

* Ability to manage datasets efficiently and balance multiple priorities independently

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in project management, working with compliance databases such as MyRecord Tracker, Castlebranch, MyClinical Exchange, etc. and Typhon

* Previous compliance experience in a health profession field

Compensation:

The Anticipated Hiring Range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000. This is a full-time position with UVA benefits. Employee benefits package highlights include:
