About the TeamAmericas Compliance, as a control function within the firm s second line of defense as well as a business partner, assists the firm in cultivating a strong Culture of Compliance and embedding the highest ethical standards and responsible business practices consistent with Mizuho s Code of Conduct and Compliance Risk Appetite.Compliance fulfills its mission by consistently instilling a Culture of Compliance across the bank and by assessing Compliance Risk and developing and implementing compliance controls and programs such as:Compliance testing, surveillance and monitoringDrafting and implementing compliance policies and proceduresProviding compliance advice and guidance to stakeholdersDesigning and delivering compliance trainingManaging Regulatory Relations and ExaminationsReporting to stakeholders, committees, senior management and the board of directors on significant compliance developments, issues and key compliance risksSummaryACD seeks a Vice President, Compliance Risk Assessment within the Compliance Risk Management team to support the Mizuho U.S. Operations Compliance Risk Assessment Program. This role is ideal for seasoned Compliance, Risk Management, or Audit Professionals who have a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks for banks and strong risk identification and risk management skills. This role reports directly to the Head of MUSO Compliance Risk Assessments.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesExecution of the Compliance Risk Assessment Program, including, but not limited to:Timely collection and analysis of pertinent information such as significant regulatory events, material business changes, regulatory changes, and high-risk regulatory trends to perform the annual review and update of the compliance risk assessment organizing construct;Maintenance of the MUSO Law Library to ensure it is up to date and accurately mapped for applicability to in scope legal entities and assessable units for the compliance risk assessment;Timely and effective communication with internal stakeholders to manage documentation requests and roundtable discussions required for completion of the compliance risk assessment;Facilitation of MUSO Compliance Risk Assessment across all in-scope MUSO legal entities and assessable units;Execution of the Compliance Risk Assessment and support of all other assessments for in-scope legal entities and assessable units;Analysis of results and observations to determine potential action items and corrective actions;Develop reporting for various levels of management including Senior Management and the Board of Directors, including the annual MUSO Compliance Effectiveness Report, MUSO Annual Compliance Plan, and the MUSO Compliance Risk Management Framework ; andMaintenance and continued development of the Compliance Risk Assessment process methodologyCollaborate with other Compliance Governance pillars, including Regulatory Change, Compliance Testing, and Issues Management to ensure Compliance Risk Assessment results are consumed downstreamRequired QualificationsFour-year degree required, advanced degree a plus5+ years within Compliance, Risk Management, or Audit at a Financial Institution, or Consulting supporting these functionsUnderstanding of the regulatory framework in the United States for banks (including bank holding companies and foreign banking organizations), broker-dealers, future commission merchants, registered investment advisers, swap dealers, and/or security-based swap dealersAdvanced to Expert proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS WordFamiliarity with the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Query, Power Automate and Power Apps a plusExcellent oral and written communication skills.Excellent time managementStrong organizational skills and close attention to detailProject mgmt. and implementation at mid to large size financial institutions requiredComfortable communicating directly with Senior Mgmt., COOs, Executive Mgmt., Division HeadsStrong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills requiredThe expected base salary ranges from $124,000.00 - $190,000.00. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
