Summary:Responsible for ensuring that the policies and procedures of the Credit Union comply with all applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, acceptable business practices, and internal standards. Analyze new and pending laws that could directly affect the Credit Union's practices. Develop and revise policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Ensure the quality, integrity, and accuracy of the Credit Union's records, operations, and processes.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain current knowledge of state and federal laws. Ensure policies and procedures remain compliant by periodically reviewing and updating them. Conduct compliance reviews, including operational, financial, lending, and internal controls, and assist departments with implementation.
- Monitor proposed, newly implemented, and changes to existing laws and regulations. Assist in disseminating compliance information and revising the Credit Union's policies and procedures as needed. Ensure that policies are properly administered, and procedures are followed.
- Manage the Credit Union's Compliance Management Software (CMS).
- Prepare periodic reports for management and the Board of Directors on compliance matters and updates.
- Participate in the review of forms, documents, records, policies, disclosures, and procedures to ensure quality and compliance. Recommend changes as needed to reduce the risk of noncompliance.
- Manage the Credit Union's vendor management software, including contract reviews and risk assessments, ensuring timely submission and compliance with regulations.
- Assist departments with inquiries related to compliance, policies, and procedures. Work with the Training Department to develop and deliver training materials to ensure staff compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with Marketing to verify that advertisements, promotions, and website content comply with relevant laws and regulations. Review and assist with editing disclosures for products, services, and member agreements to ensure regulatory accuracy.
- Review legal documents such as Powers of Attorney, subpoenas, and search warrants for compliance with state and federal regulations. Assist staff with questions related to fiduciary accounts and respond to compliance-related legal requests.
- Assist during internal and external audits related to compliance matters. Follow up on review findings and ensure completeness of responses.
- Participate in group meetings or special projects with other departments as needed.
- Coordinate the Credit Union's Complaint Management Committee. Ensure complaints are handled in compliance with applicable laws, maintain the complaint log, and draft quarterly reports for the Committee and the Board of Directors.
- Understand and comply with credit union policy, laws, regulations, and the credit union's BSA/AML/CIP/OFAC Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious member and/or account activity.

Qualifications / Education / Experience:Experience: Two to five years of similar or related experience.Education / Certifications / Licenses: A college degree or equivalent experience in financial institution compliance or a similar environment is desired.Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.Other Skills:
- Strong reading comprehension skills required.
- Good working knowledge of credit union policies, procedures, federal and state regulations and laws.
- Effective written and oral communication, problem-solving, analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

- Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
