Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Components Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical component manufacturing, engineering, and addressing diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages (DMSMS). This role involves managing components engineering tasks, resolving obsolescence issues, and improving processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Obsolescence Management: Proactively address and manage component obsolescence and DMSMS issues.
- Process Improvement: Drive standardization and continuous improvement in components engineering processes.
- Vendor and Client Liaison: Act as a point of contact between vendors, procurement teams, clients, and subcontractors to resolve component-related issues.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and reliability of components used in the missile program.
- Documentation and Reporting: Generate comprehensive reports for customers and manage documentation related to components.
Requirements:Technical Expertise:
- 10+ years of experience in electrical component manufacturing and physical property analysis.
- 10+ years of experience in components engineering with knowledge of electronic components and devices at the integrated circuit or discrete level.
- 10+ years of experience with new component releases and qualification.
Problem Solving:
- Proven ability to resolve obsolescence issues and avoid counterfeit parts.
- Experience with component failure issues, pure tin issues, and counterfeit part detection.
Process Improvement:
- Experience in defining engineering data, preparing part standards, setting procurement control requirements, and resolving quality problems.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in auto parts knowledge, technical specifications, electrical standards, failure analysis, and parts catalogs (both paper and electronic).
- Ability to conduct circuit failure mode analysis and electrical testing.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with DMSMS.
- Familiarity with missile program components and related standards.
