DescriptionJob Description: Oversee the daily operation of compressors and associated equipment, ensuring efficient functionality and meeting production needs. Serve as the primary point of contact between compressor rental/service companies and production or maintenance foremen, with a focus on maintaining smooth operations. This role emphasizes daily checks and operational oversight, rather than in-depth mechanical repairs. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily operational checks, including monitoring temperatures, pressure readings, and flow rates.
- Ensure proper operation of all sumps, dump valves, fluid levels, and lubricators.
- Inspect equipment for leaks, loose bolts, vibration, or unusual noises, conducting visual checks throughout the day.
- Accurately record operational data and report any issues to the foreman.
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and valve adjustments, ensuring proper documentation.
- Coordinate with operations staff for compressor adjustments related to gas lift systems and preventive maintenance (PM) schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized facility and assist with other area operations when time permits.
- Adhere to safety and environmental regulations, supporting EH&S compliance efforts where necessary.
Schedule:
- 10 days on, 4 days off
- 8-hour shifts starting at 7:00 AM
Additional Responsibilities:
- Order and maintain spare equipment, oils, chemicals, and filters as needed.
- Respond to call-outs for compressor facilities and assist with other operations as necessary.
Requirements
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in field operations, compressor operations, or a related role in the oil and gas industry.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification in a related field is a plus.
- Skills:
- Basic knowledge of compressor systems and equipment.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks (e.g., oil changes, valve adjustments).
- Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying and addressing operational issues.
- Excellent attention to detail for monitoring equipment performance and recording data accurately.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with foremen, vendors, and other team members.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing, bending, and working in confined spaces.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid driver's license.
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., H2S training, First Aid/CPR) are preferred.
- Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work a 10 days on/4 days off schedule, including potential call-outs as needed.
