Overview:
The Compressor Operator oversees the operation, surveillance, and troubleshooting of Natural Gas Engines, Compressors, and Pumps. Responsibilities include validating and inputting production and injection data, performing preventive/predictive maintenance, reactive maintenance, and major and minor repairs on equipment. The role also involves delivering natural gas to pipeline delivery points to meet customer requirements,both internally and externally into plants. Candidates must be available for callouts, weekends, and be able to relieve other Equipment Technicians as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain Caterpillar 3500 and 3600 series engines, Waukesha engines.
- Deliver natural gas to pipeline delivery points, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and understanding gas and oil flow through fields.
- Communicate effectively with plant personnel regarding production, issues, or maintenance needs.
- Maintain facilities, pipelines, and equipment, including pigging operations.
- Familiarity with Meter and Regulation station and Gate Station engineering components is advantageous.
- Utilize Caterpillar ET computer program for tuning and adjustments.
- Experience with high-speed reciprocating Ariel and GE-Gemini compressors.
- Troubleshoot compressor valves and repair compressor packing leaks.
- Knowledge of emission systems, exhaust catalysts, and state emissions compliance.
- Troubleshoot centrifugal and positive displacement (SWD) pumps.
- Basic troubleshooting and repair of automation and electrical equipment, including actuators, level alarms, fuses, and relays.
- Proficiency in MS Windows environment, EVIN, and MAXIMO for computer-based tasks.
- Strong initiative, ability to maintain accurate records, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills in a team environment.
- Implement cost-effective solutions and demonstrate strong commitment to safety.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Oil & Gas Compressor Operator. Experience troubleshooting VRU's and Flares a must.
- Working knowledge of oil and gas production operations is a must.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment without direct supervision.
- Must reside within a 45-mile radius of the job site.
- High School diploma or GED required; some college or technical training preferred.
- Valid Driver's License with an excellent driving record.
- Physical Requirements - Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
