POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for learning the basic maintenance functions, activities and responsibilities associated with working on natural gas compressor packages. Under close supervision, you will learn to service, troubleshoot and maintain high & low pressure compressor systems in the field. Additional duties include learning to install, commission and test complete compressor package setups on site as well as assisting in custom build applications and service engineering. Other duties may include mechanical as well as electrical assignments in regards to compressor systems and their appliances. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: may include any or all of the following.
- Under supervision, learn to perform scheduled preventive and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression units.
- Through hands on training, learn to diagnose engine/compressor failures accurately and efficiently.
- Learn to conduct timely rebuilds/overhauls of compressors, engines and controls on gas compressor packages in the field or shop under supervision.
- Learn to respond to recurring problems and emergency services, as needed.
- Help coordinate setting of new units and conducts start-up testing.
- Prepare timely service reports, expense reports and timesheets on all maintenance performed daily.
- Learn to manage the supply, storage and accessibility of parts as well as tools in order to insure an adequate supply to do the work without excessive oversupply or shrinkage.
- Represent the Company in a professional manner at all times and provide outstanding customer service while performing all assigned tasks.
- Follow safety guidelines, all rules, regulations, and environmental policies appropriate to the working conditions and site.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (COMPETENCY STATEMENTS):
- Some knowledge of machines and tools, materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of compression units.
- Motivated self-starter capable of working independently and efficiently with little or no supervision.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
