The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing the responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT).Schedule: This is a 0.7 FTE (56 hours per 2 week pay period) position. The shift pattern is an evening/night 8-hour without a weekend rotation. It could include an occassional day shift, but the majority of the shifts are evening and night. with an every Friday night shift.. Being a smaller facility it is expected that the tech will be current in general x-ray to meet our ER and inpatient off hour needs when working the night shift.*Willing to train into the CT Technologist position with the right experience*Responsibilities/Job Description:Maintains and prioritizes work to achieve optimal patient outcomesPerforms excellent patient carePerforms examinations and identifies relevant data from images accuratelyUses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needsCommunicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professionalParticipates in creating a culture of patient safetyDemonstrates knowledge of emergency preparednessVerify patient identification and documentationCommunicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of examAchieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocolApplies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing proceduresEnsures patient data integrity and adheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/proceduresAccurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changesFollows infection control guidelinesServes as a resource for other healthcare team membersResponds appropriately to emergent situationsAccurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archivingAssesses the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substancesActs as a resource for problem-solving resolutionCompleted all require continuing education to uphold their imaging licensureParticipates as an active team memberParticipates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiativesResponsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for positionCleans and maintains room and suppliesProvides integrated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality care.Contributes to a positive work environment.Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelinesIdentifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly.Maintains a high level of competencyAccepts new technology as it's introduced into the facilityParticipates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendationsQualifications:Required:Current Registration with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)Basic Life Support from American Red Cross or American Heart Association and current before date of hirePreferred:1 or years of experience in a related roleAdditional certifications in Imaging
