Job Description:

On-Site CAD Drafter (SolidWorks) - Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, and Piping Systems

Responsibilities

  • Create accurate and detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and piping systems using SolidWorks software.
  • Collaborate closelywith engineers and designers to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Interpret sketches, general arrangement drawings, spec sheets, and compress calculations to develop precise CAD designs.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of drawings and models to identify any discrepancies or errors.
  • Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and assist in the procurement process by providing accurate material and component specifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and files of CAD designs and revisions.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience as a CAD Drafter or in a similar role, preferably in the field of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, or piping systems.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in using SolidWorks software for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., ASME, ANSI, API).
  • Interpretation Skills: Ability to interpret sketches, general arrangement drawings, spec sheets, and compress calculations accurately.
  • Materials and Processes: Knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes, and fabrication techniques related to pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and piping systems.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in creating CAD designs.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members.
  • Time Management: Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects with varying deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Education: Associate degree or certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to identify design issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Documentation: Proficiency in maintaining accurate documentation and files of CAD designs and revisions.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and handle challenges effectively.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating past CAD drafting projects and highlighting relevant experience is preferred

Pay: contingent on skill level (will be discussed after interview)
