Stoughton Public Schools has an opening for Computer Hardware/Software Technician I
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Associates degree or equivalent training in maintenance and repair of PC
compatible and Apple computer systems
* A+ Certification preferred
* 2+ years of experience in the maintenance and repair of PC
compatible and Apple computer systems
* Networking skills and experience
* Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to effectively deal with a
diverse user community
* Must have valid MA driver's license and reliable transportation
* Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs.
* An understanding of modern hardware systems, how they interact with each
other, as well as skills for repairing them
REPORTS TO: Director of Educational Technology
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Installation and setup of new hardware and software, including large scale
technology rollouts
* Upgrading hardware and software
* Software Image preparation and drive imaging
* Routine hardware maintenance
* Repair of hardware
* Supporting school users
* Inventory and ordering of repair parts, spare parts, and consumables
* Proactive in working with the needs of the School users, and helping ensure
information and data systems perform optimally
* Make upgrade and improvement recommendations based on changing needs of
the client
* Provide technical support and troubleshoot problems
* Identify and propose solutions to technical issues or areas for improvement
* Other related duties as may be assigned
