Computer Information Technology InstructorJob Summary:South Arkansas College is seeking applications for a full-time, 9-month Computer Information Technology instructor. This position is responsible for instructing students in the classroom and/or lab setting within Computer Information Technology department as a part of the Arts & Sciences division. The applicant should be professional, articulate, and collaborative as well as having excellent interpersonal skills. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institutional policy. Salary to commensurate with education and experience. Plus, excellent benefit package. Supervisory Responsibilities:The selected applicant will supervise students in the classroom and/or lab setting in both in-person and online course sections and work to provide a safe and engaging learning environment. Duties and Responsibilities:•Teach Computer Information Technology courses within the Arts & Sciences division, including but not limited to: Intro to Computers, Networking Fundamentals, Computer Careers, Network Security, etc. This includes preparation of class meetings, communicating with students, assessing student work, etc. •Collaborate with other Computer Information Technology Department faculty to decide on syllabi, course materials, common assessments, etc. •Participate in divisional activities.•Collaborate with other areas/colleagues of the college, including serving on College Shared Governance committee(s) to promote the functions of the college. •Perform other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities:•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.•The ability to use professional technology to conduct college-related business (ex. Microsoft Office Suite).•Ability to teach in both in-person and online modalities using the College LMS (Blackboard Ultra).Required Education and Experience:The applicant must hold a Master's degree in Computer Information Technology or a related field (business, etc.) OR have completed a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Computer Information Technology. Preferred Education and Experience:A graduate degree in Computer Information Technology and experience as a classroom instructor, preferably at the college-level, are preferred. Physical Requirements:Those of a typical classroom teacher, such as physical mobility to conduct classroom instruction and office work. Including sitting, standing, or moving around for periods of time. May occasionally need to lift small items or equipment.
