Job Title: Computer Support Specialist Employment Type: Contract Work Hours: 40 hrs./week Work site: 100% Onsite Location: 875 Central Avenue, Albany, NY 12206 Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- dhere to program guidelines and perform functions such as answering incoming phone calls from multiple internal and external stakeholders, processing incoming faxes, and responding to stakeholder emails.
- Perform data entry into various databases and provide analysis of entered data.
- Perform special assignments and other administrative functions in support of the Bureau.
- Utilize multiple data sources and assist with the use of variance analysis to validate data used for Criminal History Record systems.
- Maintain and improve CHRC databases used for ad hoc requests and daily activities.
- Provide training and support for DOH staff, as well as support to providers and consumers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Well-organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complicated technical ideas or tasks to individuals without an IT background
- bility to work alone and as part of a team
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and experience working in a fast-paced setting

- Experience effectively communicating with consumers, providers, and staff
- Experience creating and maintaining a data dictionary and mapping of existing databases
Miscellaneous Information:
- Work hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (typically 8:45 AM to 4:45 PM).
