Job Title: Computer Technician
Pay: $22-25/hour

Duration: Contract (3-6 months to start)
Hours: Standard 9-5
About the Role: We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Computer Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and experience in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues. This role involves providing support to end-users, maintaining IT equipment, and ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hardware, software, and network issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Install, configure, and upgrade computer systems, applications, and peripherals.
- Perform regular maintenance and updates on IT systems, including software patches and hardware replacements.
- Create, manage, and deploy system images for new and existing workstations, ensuring efficient and consistent setups across devices.
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users in person, via phone, or remote access.
- Set up and configure new user accounts, email systems, and network devices.
- Ensure data security and backup procedures are properly implemented.
- Maintain an inventory of IT assets and ensure that all equipment is properly documented.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to solve complex technical problems.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and recommend improvements to the IT infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Computer Technician, IT Support Specialist, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and software applications.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and common office software (Microsoft Office, G Suite).
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware components (CPUs, RAM, hard drives, printers, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with imaging software and tools (e.g., Clonezilla, Acronis, MDT) and the ability to create, customize, and deploy system images.
- Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and Wi-Fi configurations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent.
- Experience with network security and data backup solutions.
