Role Overview
Eastman Kodak is currently seeking a Computer Technician with experience across multiple generations of computer hardware, software, and instrumentation to join our team. This position is fully onsite in Rochester NY to support our film manufacturing business.
Responsibilities:
The overall purpose of this position is to maintain nearly 200 production-related PCs.
This includes:
* Capturing Backup Images of Computers
o Maintain excel file to catalogue and maintain company PCs
o Maintain archives of historical images
Knowledge of long-term data maintenance
o Create and store backup images of PCs across a variety of operating systems (MS-DOS, Windows NT, XP, 7, 10, 11) using internal tooling. Coordinate with production schedulers to capture images optimally while minimizing downtime
o Maintain that PCs have positive RAID status, complete semiannual checks
* Develop clear and intuitive documentation for technical resources, peers, and end users
* Interact with production, engineering, and IT professionals to effectively collaborate and problem solve
* Troubleshoot general hardware and software issues as they arise. Submit and track tickets on behalf of operators on the floor
Requirements:
* 1-5 years hands-on experience fixing, building, and troubleshooting PCs
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Patient and willing to take precautions to preserve data
* Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work within and lead teams
* Must be self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to manage timelines
Desired Knowledge:
* Hardware, hard disks, ports, connecting components
* Operating systems: MS-DOS, Windows NT, XP, 7, 10, 11
* Software troubleshooting, resourceful problem solving
o Networking and domain issues
o Instrument connectivity and communication issues
o Other miscellaneous issues as they arise
* Networking and domain rights
* Security vulnerabilities and best practices
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, VBA a plus
Additional Useful Skills:
* Visual Basic (VB6 and/or .NET)
* WonderWare InTouch HMI and INSQL knowledge
* Network support related to maintaining communications to plant computer via ethernet and serial communications, LAN configuration, managed switches
