POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful management of multiple information services (IS) projects, including infrastructure and software development. This colleague is responsible for ensuring projects adhere to defined timeframes, specifications, funding parameters in accordance with Concentra and department policies, practices, and procedures. Additionally, Project Managers for multiple teams will report directly to the Senior Project Manager, as it pertains to implementation, deliverables, and status reports for assigned projects. The Senior Project Manager will oversee larger or more complex projects.
Responsibilities:THE DETAILS Report on project status, progress, metrics, risks, test results, and deployment activities Run projects on a day-to-day basis and delegate tasks to individual project managers Lead IS related projects as required. This task could include supervision of EPMO team members Provide coaching to Project Managers and Project Coordinators Review project proposal or phases to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources Establish scope document, work plan and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of the project and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel Provide big-picture assistance to the organization and manage all aspects of related projects to ensure alignment of the overall program with strategic business objectives Confer with project staff to develop a work plan appropriate to the context and objectives of a project Coordinate with resource owners to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority. Integrate any/all team sub-plans into a larger master project plan Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required. Ensure adherence to quality standards and review all project deliverables Establish, schedule, and facilitate regular status meetings with project personnel. Document agendas and minutes for all status meetings and assign action items as appropriate
Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget Maintain issue list, proactively escalate issues to project and departmental leadership to mitigate risk. Recommend and take action to direct analysis and solution of problems Prepare and present project reports for management, client, or others Follow departmental start-up, implementation and close down procedures for managing projects Participate in technical assessments and business process workflow review and documentation. Qualifications:EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS Bachelors degree in related field required or equivalent education and experience In lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice versa PMP Certification preferred but not required
JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE Customarily has at least seven years of project management experience that spans across business units, allowing them to work in all types of industries and organizations Working knowledge of project management methodologies Has considerable expertise as it relates to specialized process improvement initiatives Experience working with business stakeholders Experience with and understanding of full project or product lifecycle Proficiency with project management tools and related technology Ability to demonstrate leadership, drive results, solve problems, and possess interpersonal skills from prior work situations Experience in different project management methodologies
