Position: Concession Stand ManagerReports To: Athletic DirectorSalary Schedule / Grade: $20.00F.L.S.A Status: Temporary, Non-ExemptSUMMARYDayton Public Schools is looking fora Concession Stand Manager. These are temporary positions. The manager performs various functions related to the operation of the concession stands for all sport functions including DPS athletic events, UD athletic events, and tournaments that are held at Welcome Stadium. The manager is responsiblefor facilitating efficient customer service in the areas of concession sales and event admittance. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Dayton Public Schools may identify other responsibilities of the position.The Dayton Way
- Support and maintain the District's core principles in the areas of professionalism, culture, and customer service. Demonstrate courage, compassion, patience, and a passion for exceptional customer service in daily activities.
- Meet the challenges of accurate cash handling during busy times.
- Keep accurate records of payment transactions, product inventory and expiration dates as well as supply usage and needs.
- Collaborate and engage effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure concession areas are effectively being maintained to District's standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(Incumbent performs a majority of the following duties)
- Oversees all operations of the concession stands including creating and managing volunteer schedules, determining menu prices, and purchasing all food and non-perishable items.
- Oversees day-to-day operations of the concession stands including; opening and closing procedures, training workers to operate cash drawers and prepare food, cash handling and deposit responsibilities, appealing displays and merchandise.
- Operates all functions of a cash register (or equivalent) to complete payments for goods from customers or employees including; receiving cash payments, returning accurate change, and issuing receipts or tickets to customers.
- Prepare a weekly report for accounts, operations, expenses, and income. Work closely with budget specialists.
- Collaborate with the Director of Athletics for assistance with operations and volunteers.
- Train and supervise concession stand workers.
- Maintain a clean work area. Reporting concerns and maintenance items to the stadium caretaker.
- Assist during busy times by taking orders, preparing food, working the snack bar, handling cash, etc.
- Understands and follows Dayton Public Schools cash-handling policies and procedures.
- Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
- Complies with all Dayton Public Schools policies and procedures.
- Reports all accidents and injuries according to the district's policy.
- Participates in safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments when requested.
- Attends training programs as designated.
- May perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONSRequirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S
- Valid State Identification.
- Must be 18 years or older

- Experience in retail or food services; supervisory experience preferred.

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES/DEMANDS

- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including: constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time.
- Must meet state and local health requirements for food handlers and alcoholic beverage services.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Hours may vary depending on sports season and number of events scheduled in a week. Expect to work 20-25 hours per week, including evenings and occasional weekends.
- Ability to work in an open aired environment during all climate conditions.
- Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as the event schedule dictates.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
