As a division of Cornell Dining, Cornell Concessions and Suites supports the students, athletes and spectators of our athletic teams. Our team of experienced professionals provide memorable food experiences for the spectators at Cornell Athletic events, as well as catering to our athletes in support of recruiting, team building, and preparing for the big game.

Under the direct supervision of the Concessions Manager, the **Concessions & Suites Supervisor** oversees the basic operational details of concessions and catered events at select venues for Athletics and key Cornell events ranging from 50-5,000 guests or more. Specifically, this includes the completion of pre-planning checklists, supporting the supervision of staff, coordinating the event set-ups and breakdowns, and completing necessary event closing paperwork.

Additionally, this position will regularly help support on-site client relations, which can often be sensitive and complex as events can often involve high-level university officials, prominent alumni, trustees, world leaders and dignitaries that require a high level of security.

A successful Concessions & Suites Supervisor:

* Demonstrates strong organizational skills in order to plan, coordinate, and successfully deliver on a range of services.

* Ensures University, departmental, and any federal/state policies and procedures are understood, implemented and maintained in a positive and consistent manner. This includes adhering to all NYS Liquor Authority laws regarding the controls of alcohol at all points of sale

* Continues to grow, nurture and develop a positive workforce by being a trusted and respected ally to staff and brings forward any questions or concerns to management team.

* Collaborates with others in SCL and Cornell Dining to help strengthen community and campus partnerships by responding quickly and effectively to multiple priorities, situations and concerns with a high level of understanding, knowledge and initiative.

* Is highly adaptable and flexible and works well in a constantly changing environment with varied work hours and significant physical demands.

**Required Qualifications:**

* Associate degree and at least two years of experience in catering, food services, or concessions type business or the equivalent combination of education or experience required.

* Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.

* Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Filemaker, or similar database software, and calendar management programs.

* Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.

* Must be able to stand for long periods of time, including periods with significant walking.

* Must possess and maintain a valid NY state driver's license with no major driving violations. Must be able to obtain DOT or university certification as may be asked to drive catering trucks on short notice.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

* Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team as well as the ability to problem solve, think creatively, and encourage others to work collaboratively is highly preferred.

* Previous supervisory are strongly preferred

* Knowledge of food and health codes including certifications is desirable. TIPPS or similar certifications is also desirable.

* Previous experience with Kronos, Event Master, and FSS systems are preferred.
