We seek a skilled and versatile Carpenter to support our growing Concierge Services division.OverviewAs a Concierge Services Carpenter, enjoy variety and independence. Perform work on your own or in small teams, completing projects within a few days to a week. This position is ideal for the self-directed worker who likes a range of residential repair projects, including:Home repairs: Fixing minor plumbing issues, repairing drywall, patching leaks, or addressing electrical problemsMaintenance work: Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, lubricating hinges, or inspecting and cleaning guttersCarpentry: Building or repairing furniture, installing shelves, or fixing wooden structuresPainting: Painting walls, ceilings, or exterior surfacesAssembly: Assembling furniture, appliances, or other items that come in a kitInstallation: Installing fixtures, such as ceiling fans, light fixtures, or window blindsOdd jobs: Tackling miscellaneous tasks that may not fit into a specific categoryRequirementsMinimum 5 years full-time residential construction experience or property maintenance/repairsHigh school diploma or equivalent is required; associate's degree preferredProficient in all phases of construction, including light electrical and plumbing repairsStrong painting skills a plusDetail-oriented and diligent, with the manual dexterity, strength, and stamina to perform required workSelf-sufficient and self-motivatedProfessional, courteous, and customer service-orientedExcellent math and problem-solving skillsEffective use of a variety of hand and power tools (provide your own)Written and verbal communication skillsBasic computer skillsValid NYS driver's license and ability to travel to jobs throughout the Greater Capital Region and Lower AdirondacksResponsibilitiesPlanning and preparing for assigned projects, including establishing schedule, obtaining needed materials, reading assigned work scopeEnsuring production and quality control, completing projects thoroughly, accurately, timely, and to the client's satisfactionCommunicating with Concierge Services Coordinator, Project Manager, and clients as needed to assess and resolve project challengesWorking safely on projects in compliance with industry standards and company policiesTeakwood Builders, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
