This pivotal role involves overseeing and managing the estimation and coordination of concrete flatwork projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and adhere to high quality standards.Who we are: At Maker Construction, we're not just a top contractor in Grove City, we're a partner in transforming spaces.   • Manage all aspects of concrete flatwork, asphalt, retaining walls, estimation and planning. Including occasional site visits.
  • Interpret and clarify project plans and contracts for staff, workers, and clients.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet the agreed timeline, budget, and scope.
  • Schedule and coordinate comprehensive construction activities to optimize project flow.
  • Lead the construction team, fostering clear communication and professional development.
  • Enforce stringent safety and quality control protocols.
  • Oversee adherence to building and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and other professional services to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate should possess:
  • 5 Years of proven experience as an Estimator or Concrete Flatwork Superintendent. With a deep understanding of construction processes.
  • Experience in estimating projects such as excavation for concrete, footers, site pads, curbs, flatwork, concrete pouring and finishing, and asphalt paving projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction techniques, tools, equipment, and materials related to concrete flatwork.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to guide and make decisive decisions beneficial to the project.
  • Strong time management skills, ensuring all projects adhere to deadlines.
  • Proficiency in reading construction plans and understanding contract terminology.
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and planning skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Robust communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a diverse team.
  • A degree or certification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is highly desirable.
  • Estimators with General Construction experience is welcome, project lists are highly recommended.
  • Proficient in Bid2Win or HCSS or Contractor Foreman estimation software.
