The ideal candidate will be responsible for smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, and curbs. You will apply precision and expertise to create high-quality finishes on construction projects. The company's commitment to building solid relationships with repeat customers and its dedication to high standards in construction work have been key drivers of its success.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Signal concrete deliverers and direct concrete into forms.
- Spread concrete into inaccessible sections using a rake or shovel.
- Level concrete to specified depth and consistency with handheld screeds, vibra screeds, and bull floats.
- Smooth and shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete with magnesium floats.
- Operate power trowels and finish concrete surfaces by hand.
- Mold expansion joints and edges, and adjust subgrade work and forms.
- Mix and apply plaster to interior walls, ceilings, and partitions, ensuring a uniform finish.
- Complete necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for 30% of the time and walk 20% of the time on soil and concrete surfaces.
- Capable of lifting up to 80 lbs and pushing/pulling weights up to 200 lbs.
- Able to climb 5 feet, bend frequently, and work in both indoor (5%) and outdoor (95%) environments.
- Comfortable working with tools such as shovels, hammers, trowels, and power tools.
- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years experience in concrete finishing
- Mathematical Skills:
- Basic arithmetic skills required (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Language Skills:
- Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Tools Required:
- Trowel, magfloat, margin trowel, boots, claw hammer, tape measure, and small sledgehammer will be provided.
- Safety Equipment:
- PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, knee pads, hard hats, and power tools will be provided.
