Job Description:
Concrete Laborer We are looking for a hardworking and dedicated Concrete Laborer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation, pouring, and finishing of concrete for various construction projects. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment. Previous experience in concrete work is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities:
  • Concrete Preparation and Pouring:
    • Assist in setting up forms, frames, and reinforcement materials (e.g., rebar or wire mesh) for concrete pours.
    • Mix, pour, and spread concrete using hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and trowels.
    • Ensure the proper placement and leveling of concrete to meet project specifications.
  • Concrete Finishing:
    • Smooth and finish concrete surfaces using floats, trowels, screeds, or power tools.
    • Apply surface treatments such as curing compounds, sealants, or hardeners to protect concrete.
    • Create textures, patterns, or edges on concrete surfaces as required by project plans.
  • Formwork and Reinforcement:
    • Assist in building and dismantling concrete forms, ensuring they are properly aligned and secure.
    • Cut, tie, and place reinforcing steel bars (rebar) or mesh into the forms before pouring concrete.
    • Ensure all formwork and reinforcement meets structural and design requirements.
  • Site Preparation and Clean-Up:
    • Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, leveling ground, and setting up necessary equipment.
    • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas after concrete work is completed.
    • Assist with general labor tasks on the construction site as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
    • Adhere to company and industry standards for quality and safety in all concrete-related tasks.
    • Report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues to the supervisor.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork:
    • Work effectively as part of a team to complete concrete projects on time and within scope.
    • Communicate with supervisors and other team members to ensure clarity on job tasks and expectations.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Prior experience in concrete labor or general construction is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for motivated candidates.
  • Skills:
    • Basic knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques.
    • Familiarity with hand and power tools such as trowels, screeds, and power floats.
    • Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
    • Ability to kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods.
    • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Benefits/Compensation
  • Full time
  • $14-$15/hr
  • Split shift: 11am-7pm
