Our vision is to continue to lead our industry through innovation and exceptional performance.MCI is currently seeking a Concrete Superintendent based in Effingham, IL.Our Paving Concrete Superintendent is responsible for working closely with fellow team members to ensure accuracy on the job sites and assist in project completion and troubleshooting. This position oversees the onsite concrete and construction needs of our slip form paving operations through managing the daily onsite work and records, tracking production quantities, and verifying employee time. In addition, the Paving Concrete Superintendent is key to ensuring both the safety of our team, along with making sure all safety requirements are met for the clients. This position requires a high degree of accuracy, communication and critical thinking.What makes you successful in this position?
  • Familiarity with the local unions and experience working with them.
  • A clear understanding of slip form paving operations, including paver set up and 3D stringless knowledge.
  • Demonstrated previous, quality concrete experience, including flatwork and formwork through a minimum of 5 years concrete slip form experience.
  • The ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and geotechnical information. This includes experience with grade checking plans or specs using a variety of methods such as GPS, stakes and cut sheets, etc.
  • Previous leadership experience and a team player mentality, with the desire to be a part of a successful, hardworking team at a Foreman level.
  • Strong understanding of technology and the ability to use an iPad and computer regularly.
  • A safety-oriented mindset and the ability to travel within a 2-hour radius, as this position will be working in multiple environments.
  • Superior time management and leadership skills.
The pay range for this position is commensurate based on experience.
