Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a Configuration Management Lead to own and ensure successful execution of the CM Plan, including configuration identification, change and requirements management, verification, and audits. Successful candidate will use a high degree of experience to manage a team and provide support for a portfolio of technology products, including software and hardware products for Intelligence Systems.
Responsibilities include:
* Establish and enforce CM Policy on assigned program(s) as set forth in company procedures or project Configuration Management Plans
* Establish, implement, and ensure successful execution of all Software and Hardware Configuration Management activities per the Configuration Data Management Plan and BAE Systems policies and procedures.
* Manage requirements including traceability of functional and non-functional requirements
* Execute software release and change control functions using the designated CM tools in an agile environment, in order to ensure software product integrity and meet program schedules
* Facilitate Configuration Control Board activities and develop and generate metrics as related to SCM (e.g., issue tracking counts, lines of code)
* Continuous documentation review
* Participate and brief on current state of CM affairs at Integrated Program Reviews (IPRs)
* Attend agile process meetings (Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, etc) as required
* Serve as a CM SME level advisor to CDS Program Managers and community stakeholders
* Ensure software development life cycle and system documentation incorporate Raise the Bar (RTB) Requirements
* Maintain awareness of Federal Government, DoD, IC, Air Force, and AFRL processes and procedures as they relate to configuration items
* Create and update policy, processes, and applicable workflows; ensure adherence to each
* Author technical reports, white papers, and other documentation as needed
* Oversee changes and configuration management tasks for the team
* Build and foster relationships among diverse stakeholders

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
* Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Applied Science or related field
* Minimum 10 years of related experience
* Demonstrated knowledge and extensive experience with Software Configuration Management standards/ processes and ensuring change management delivery
* Proven experience in facilitating a software Configuration Control Board (CCB)
* Familiarity with Continuous Integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab)
* Technical writing skills, capable of creating required engineering documentation such as Software Version Description (SVD) documents (advanced level writing, editing, proofreading, and page composition skills)
* Cross functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Finance, and Export teams
* Experience managing a team of professionals; strong understanding and a willingness to train others on CM tools, and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of software configuration management processes and standards
* Knowledge of Agile software development life cycle principles
* Exceptional interpersonal customer-relations skills utilizing excellent communication skills (both written & verbal)
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
* Master's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Applied Science or another related field
* Ability to work complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues as well as an understanding and compliance with company policies and procedures
* Demonstrated experience creating and executing a CM Plan
* ITILv3 Foundations Certification (or higher)
* Experience and administration of CM Tools (Jira, Git/Bitbucket) and Continuous Integration Tools (Jenkins, GitLab)
* Experience with Agile Scrum/SAFe practices or Agile Scrum Master Certification
* Knowledge of various scripting languages (e.g., perl, shell, python)
* NDIA Configuration/Data Management Certification
* Understanding of roles and responsibilities within Air Force Program Management Offices
* Experience with software compilation, assembly, and delivery of source code into finished products or other software components
* Experience in establishing and administering tool specific source code libraries, to include software builds, change control, and release management
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115100 - $195700
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
