GreenXT is seeking a Configuration Manager to support configuration management, maintenance, documentation, quality control, delivery and install efforts of Machinery Controls System software for DDG-51 Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers. The selected candidate will interface with U.S. Navy civilian software and systems engineers, support contractors, quality control engineers, U.S. Navy ship's force, OEMs and program management to contribute to all aspects of the software lifecycle. Responsibilities:
- Prepare, maintain, develop and manage Software Requirements
- Write, review, and maintain configuration management requirements, tools, test procedures, as well as, system plans, product specifications, training material and other documentation for the Machinery Control System software and supporting products
- Utilize version control and collaboration tools like Git, Spork, DOORS, Microsoft SharePoint/Teams, Jira, Wiki, and Confluence
- Coordinate and lead and kickoff meetings and peer reviews
- Participate, conduct and prepare technical documentation which supports quarterly program, ready to test, delivery and other related audits
- Report to management with status updates and data mining requests
- Develop software delivery schedules and determine software requirements
- Maintain inventory and status of delivered media
- Maintain Navy ship configuration data to include software and firmware on the DDG 51 class of ships
- Ensure the entire team is following all processes that fall under the Configuration Management Process
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics from an accredited college or university
- 2-5 years' experience as a Configuration Manager, to include, experience with libraries of multiple software baselines, version control, tracing unique updates to software builds
- Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain this clearance upon position acceptance) is required for this position.
- One (1) year experience with requirements management using DOORS
- One (1) year experience with Waterfall software development life cycle concepts
- Familiarity and experience working at CMMI Level 3 or higher
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite applications
- Proficient technical writing ability
- Ability to multi-task, with strong organization skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Must be capable of working independently to define, improve and implement CM processes and procedures, and update documents for multiple projects based on scope and process changes
- Working knowledge of Navy Organizations preferred
- Ability to travel 5%
Ability to Work Remotely: Positions are not available for full-time remote work. Work can be either full-time onsite in an office environment at the Philadelphia Navy Yard or a combination of remote and onsite (hybrid). Persons accepting hybrid positions typically support onsite work 2 to 3 days/week. In addition, persons accepting hybrid positions must agree to being onsite on-demand to support any ad-hoc customer needs. Work may also be performed onboard US Navy Ships (pier side and at sea), which requires proper safety precautions and ability to go up and down shipboard stairways (ladders); work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.
