This role will be a member of the Victoria Shift Production Team. We are seeking an individual who can be a shift leader: building board operator knowledge and capability, owning sitewide production communications (updates, event management, and advocating for shift needs), and being a key partner with other groups on production needs and requests.

What You Will Do

This role is responsible for the leadership and direct supervision of a team of Console Operators focused on the following:

  • Ensure the safe, stable, reliable, and environmental operation of the Victoria, TX manufacturing site.
  • Champion the Control Room development and drive ownership and accountability for the production results.
  • Develop control room capabilities to run, maintain, optimize, and improve our production units through advanced automation, APC, State-Based Controls, and emerging technologies.
  • Accountable for the console operations performance metrics: Personnel/Process Safety, Environmental, Production, Product Quality, Reliable Operations, and QPUs/Cost of Manufacturing.
  • Accountable for shift team utilization of information from asset monitoring and data analytics team.
  • Partnering with Shift leaders and learning and development to standardize and sustain operations training to strengthen shift capability.
  • Connecting the shift to the economic performance of the operating units and how that impacts our market competitiveness.
  • Guiding the shift to achieve site BETs, by acting as principled entrepreneurs, prioritizing and completing playbook initiatives.
  • Champion team members' self-actualization through personalized development and principled feedback, ensuring each individual's growth aligns with our culture of continuous improvement and mutual benefit.
  • Evaluate operational gaps and implement resolutions.
  • Key leader in site communications regarding production status, constraints, and arising issues through the use of shift updates, event management communication, and stop meetings.
  • Support site fire brigade and leadership Incident command responsibilities.
  • Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Proven experience leading successful operations teams in a chemical or refining environment.
  • Experienced in operating or supporting a console or board at a chemical or refining facility, or equivalent experience (i.e. process engineering directly supporting operations).
  • Previous experience in working within cross-site/cross-discipline teams and providing transparent communication site-wide.
  • Experience with training, coaching, and managing personnel.
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule.
  • Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
  • What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment issues and facilitating RCA, Cause Mapping, and Failure Mode Cause Analysis.
  • Experience or proficiency with new technology implementation and utilization.
  • 5+ years' of operating a console at a Chemical or refining facility.
  • Previous Incident Command or Fire Brigade experience.
