The Systems Group is looking for an energetic individual to be our next Construction Coordinator/ Field Engineer Intern. We are looking for someone to help with the day-to-day issues that pop up but to also be part of the big picture and contribute to the long-term strategy of our operations across the country. Construction Coordinator/ Field Engineer Intern Job Responsibilities:
* Participates in meetings and maintains good relationships with customers.
* Utilize Systems state of the art laser scanners to scan projects in steel mills
* Creating thorough work packages to turn over to subcontractors or field supervision.
* Generating/Maintaining construction tracking sheets to turn over to project management.
* Inputting data into our tracking system collected from field reports
* Assist with receiving/locating materials
* Preparing detailed estimates per customer requirements that include complete material take-offs and self-perform and subcontracted activities.
* Preparing bid proposals to customers that include cost breakdowns, clarifications, the scope of work, and exclusions.
* Creating pre-construction budgets to turn over to accounting and project management.
* Assist in the procurement of materials for fabrication based on customer specifications.
* Assist in field measurements and field design.
* Support with problem-solving and scheduling during pre-construction phases.
Experience and Requirements:
* Candidate should be pursuing a degree in civil, mechanical, industrial or construction management; experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
* Candidate should have completed at least one year of the appropriate study
* Candidate will have the opportunity to work for 40 hours/week during summer (full-time)
