This program is critical to maintaining and advancing national defense capabilities.We're seeking a talented Cost Estimator to make an impact on three large-scale projects at the forefront of defense innovation. If you thrive in a collaborative environment where your expertise is valued, this role is for you!What You'll DoAs a Cost Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in identifying scope of work areas that require specific subcontract, equipment and subject matter expert support. This includes:
- Reviewing source data, including engineering documents to develop the estimating plan and handbook.
- Identifying SOW areas that require subcontractor support and/or specially engineered equipment. Work with Supply Chain to write specifications and obtain pricing.
- Identifying SOW area that require subject matter expertise and work with the Proposal Manager to identify appropriate SMEs.
- Cost estimating: selection of appropriate estimating methodologies and hands-on oversight of development of the detailed estimates.
- Participate in review process and ensure comments/feedback are implemented.
Minimum Qualifications
- 25 years of experience in engineering, construction, operations, estimating, scheduling, project controls, proposal development, and/or project management.
- Experience developing multi-billion-dollar cost estimates.
- Specific experience leading cost estimating for heavy industrial (i.e. - chemical processing, oil and gas) and/or nuclear facilities.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- The Department of Energy requires US Citizenship to work on this project.
