Purpose of the Position The position is for a Construction Equipment Mechanic and Manager for a Nanuet NY based crane rental company.. The job scope is to work alongside and manage a small maintenance staff to service our crane fleet. This is a hands-on position; you would be actively working on repairs as well as managing administrative duties. The fleet is primarily all terrain and truck cranes with a small fleet of tractors, trailers, and straight trucks. Responsibilities include management of repairs and preventive maintenance of all equipment. Administrative duties Responsible for ensuring that all equipment is regularly maintained and timely repaired to prevent potential work disruptions Promptly addressing equipment breakdowns both at company facilities and on jobsites. Manage preventive maintenance programs Work with administrative personnel on equipment repair budgeting decisions Travelling to worksites for onsite repairs – company will supply a vehicle Tracking and record keeping Track equipment maintenance, repair and parts replacement Monitor equipment-related inventory, parts and accessories. Ensuring equipment compliance with industry regulations and safety standards Personnel Management Manage shop personnel Manage temporary shop personnel when necessary. Consistently communicate with the equipment scheduling/ dispatch management. Work experience &Skills 3+ years' experience as a supervisor or foreman/team lead 5+ years of experience working on heavy construction equipment IE front end loaders,excavators/ cranes preferred Read electric, hydraulic schematics /drawings Diagnose / troubleshoot equipment breakdowns Personal Tools required Basic Welding Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as well as random drug testing required Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 3 - 5 years Salary: $105,000 - $115,000 Annual Bonus/Commission: No
