  • Provide accurate quantity take-offs, job analysis, and pricing as necessary to produce successful job estimates for company bids and negotiations.
  • Prepare all bid documents necessary to obtain vendor and subcontractor pricing for various scopes of work included in bid packages.
  • Prepare and maintain the company estimate log, and track status of bids and competitor's bids to evaluate market conditions and bid strategies.
  • Prepare and maintain historical cost data for evaluation of company labor production and recommend necessary adjustments for profitability and competitive advantages.
  • Use sound judgment regarding market conditions, time to complete, material and equipment expenses, trade contractor capabilities, and risk management measures.
  • Collaborate with internal and external project teams to build productive and enduring relationships.
  • Manage and resolve unexpected challenges with a resourceful, problem-solving mindset and the highest level of professionalism.
  • Leverage technology systems to provide a unique client experience.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent training/experience in Construction Estimating.
  • Construction Experience – at least 5 years preconstruction and estimating experience for $10M+ commercial concrete projects.
  • Successful completion of classes, training or experience in cost estimating, cost modeling, cost engineering, and constructability, and ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding.
  • Solid technical knowledge of building construction means, methods and systems including complete understanding of all trades and work disciplines; familiarity with resources for maintaining current knowledge.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret building plans, construction contracts and project specifications.
  • Field experience in addition to estimating experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to plan and prioritize objectives to achieve high-quality, successful results.
  • Collaborative and consistent communication skills, including emotional awareness, active listening, respectful language, constructive feedback, and collaborative problem solving.
  • Proficient with Office 365 (Excel, Project, Word, Outlook) and tools such as Procore and OnCenter Software for managing estimate information. Ability to achieve proficiency with recent technology solutions.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude, professional demeanor and perform well under project constraints and deadlines.
  • Ability to retain flexibility, while still providing reliability and consistency. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the highest level of integrity.
  • Demonstrate a learning orientation. Willing to pursue related educational and training opportunities with intellectual curiosity for job performance improvement on an on-going basis.
