Construction Estimator (Commercial TI)

Tiello has partnered with a highly reputable Commercial General Contractor in the Los Angeles Area on their search for a Construction Estimator to focus on both Tenant Improvement (TI) and Ground-Up Commercial, Office, Restaurant, Retail, Private School Projects ranging in value up to $10 M.

As a Construction Estimator, your main responsibility will be to compile estimates for the cost of work focused on specific projects related to the commercial sector, by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Included in this will be the estimation of labor, material, equipment, and time requirements in order to compute the overall cost and duration of the project.

Job Title: Construction Estimator (4+ Years Total Experience)

Project Types: Commercial, Office Buildings, Restaurant, Retail, Private Schools, Tenant Improvement (TI), Ground-Up

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all responsibilities of a Project Estimator including but not limited to the following:
• Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material pricing
• Propose value engineering options to reduce project cost
• Coordinate subcontract solicitations and job walks
• Determine costs of labor, material, and equipment
• Push the evolution of the construction documents as necessary
• Prepare conceptual estimates
• Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules
• Submit requisitions for purchase of materials
• Compare competitive trade bids

Skills & Qualifications:

• BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred.
• 4+ years total Experience including at least 2 years as an Estimator, Estimating projects for reputable General Contractors.
• Commercial Project Experience
