Blue River Environmental & Restoration is a leader in providing environmental remediation, civil construction, industrial services, and property restoration. We are looking for an experienced heavy excavating/civil Estimator to join our Environmental team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Estimating:
Attend site visits, prepare cost estimates and proposals for projects
Responsible for all phase of completing estimates or budgets including
Make bid presentations, along with management, to potential customers
Schedule and attend pre-planning & project in-house meetings.
Provides support to projects/tasks for the estimating group
Prepare change orders
Maintains and builds long term client relations throughout project and
Provides expertise by assisting with project scope, technical approach and resource allocation phases of project development
Project Management:
Work with accounting staff to ensure that all information is entered when required, including information entered in the field and change orders
Communicate cost issues and mitigating project or production issues when encountered.
Approve vendor and subcontractor payments prepared by accounting.
Ensure that accounting has all the necessary information to bill projects in accordance with the contract requirements.
Review and approve customer billings prepared by accounting.
Manage the project closeout requirements with assistance from accounting.
Attend weekly job progress meetings.
Responsible for maintaining good relations with the companys customers and resolving issues in a manner that protects the relationship over the long term.
Education and/or Experience
Four years of estimating experience in a heavy/ civil or industrial capacity.
2 yr, 4 yr, or technical degree in Construction Management related field preferred.
Experience with Heavy Bid preferred
The following are also required for this position.
Minimum 40-hour work week. (Overtime will most likely be required.)
