Estimator Job Description:
The Estimator will be responsible for developing detailed cost estimates including experience with conceptual estimating for both negotiated and hard bids.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Lead the preconstruction phase of large projects, ensuring accuracy in estimates, schedules, and value engineering
- Manage the estimating process, including subcontractor solicitation and bid evaluation
- Oversee preconstruction efforts, mentoring junior estimators and coordinating with project teams
- Prepare detailed estimates from conceptual to final construction documents
- Actively participate in RFPs and client interviews
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure on-site safety compliance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 3-5 years of commercial estimating experience (CM/GC)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software
- Ability to read drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of commercial construction costs, budgeting, vendor selection, and industry standards
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Verifiable work references showing accomplishments and leadership
- Completion of post-offer background and drug screens
