Horizon Glass, a leader in high-quality glass installations and services in Colorado is seeking a mid-level Construction Estimator. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimation, particularly in glazing and glass projects, with afocus on delivering accurate cost assessments to help drive the success of commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Participating in daily estimating activities for glass and glazing projects.
- Prepare material quantity takeoffs, identify potential risks, and ensure that all costs, including materials, labor, and timeframes are accounted for.
- Collaborate with the preconstruction team, project management, and vendors to submit accurate and timely bids.
- Update and maintain estimate records and reports.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits when required.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of relevant experience, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
- 5+ years of estimating experience, ideally within the construction sector.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and industry standards.
- Prior experience in building envelopes is preferred but not required.
- Practice good judgment to find solutions that meet project needs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Exhibit technical skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, an understanding of plans, specifications and familiarity with Bluebeam or similar estimating software.
