Job Description: As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. Your role will be critical in ensuring the success of projects by providing precise budgeting and cost management. Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to gather necessary information and clarify project requirements.
- Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, and related documents.
- Obtain and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare and present cost estimates, budgets, and reports to stakeholders.
- Monitor and update project costs and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain a database of historical project costs and other relevant data for reference in future estimates.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and company standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial projects.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in estimating software and tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with cost control and budgeting.
