Position Overview:
The Construction Estimator will play a critical role in the pre-construction process, analyzing project requirements, preparing detailed cost estimates, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities:
- Review project documents, including plans, specifications, and contracts, to develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs and price analysis for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information and clarify project details.
- Prepare and present bid proposals, budgets, and value-engineering solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends and pricing to maintain up-to-date cost databases.
- Assist with subcontractor and supplier selection, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Work closely with project managers and field teams during project handoff to ensure seamless execution.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as an estimator in the commercial construction industry.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst, or similar tools).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
