About This Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to take on a leadership role in the preconstruction and construction phases of projects. This upper-level management position involves direct decision-making responsibilities and executive-level oversight. The role requires a commitment of 40-50 hours per week and offers the opportunity to shape and drive company systems and standards.

About You:

You are an experienced professional with at least 10 years of estimating and project management expertise in the Construction Management and General Contracting industry. You have a proven ability to lead, innovate, and manage multiple complex estimating assignments while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. With a deep understanding of construction methods, software tools, and financial strategies, you bring a calm and collaborative approach to even the most challenging situations.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the company's bidding and estimating division, collaborating on all aspects of management and development
  • Adapt, create, and streamline company systems and standards
  • Take on leadership functions and support the management team and president
  • Perform detailed and conceptual estimates at different project stages
  • Analyze and evaluate bidding risks and strategies
  • Compile benchmarks, project details, and delivery methods, including Lump Sum, GMP, Design Build, and Cost Plus
  • Establish schedule durations, attend scheduling meetings, and review general requirements
  • Work with field teams to determine labor sizing and constructability
  • Lead estimate reviews with project management, design teams, and owners
  • Build and maintain relationships with architects, engineers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Develop and maintain cost data, estimating procedures, and guidelines
  • Manage and improve hardware/software systems for the Estimating Department
  • Gather historical data for future estimates and ensure database precision
  • Prepare and submit proposals, estimates, and change orders
  • Track and understand cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle
  • Review estimates for completeness and accuracy, providing timely feedback

What You'll Need:

  • At least 10 years of experience in estimating and/or project management within the Construction Management & General Contracting industry
  • Proficiency in estimating software and various computer applications
  • Strong skills in reading and interpreting construction documents and blueprints
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to give clear written and oral instructions
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor in stressful situations
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong professional relationships
