Overview:

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a Construction Field Superintendent to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).

The Construction Field Superintendent is responsible for the oversight of approximately 25 to 50 Craft personnel and their field construction activities including fabrication, installation, modification and maintenance of systems and components up to and including new project or facility installations. The position requires a fundamental understanding of Construction installation principles, and ability to apply these principles to field conditions including radiologically controlled areas.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises approximately 25 50 craft personnel in the completion of field construction activities.
• Assists the General Superintendent in directing the actual (physical) construction of multiple capital projects to their overall successful completion
• Resolves quality control and quality assurance issues and recommends corrective action as necessary
• Coordinates with design / construction engineering for scheduling of design outputs and provides design with necessary input to resolve design changes and improve constructability
• Promotes safe work practices with the intent of preventing injuries
• Fosters a team concept when interfacing with other departments
• Reviews job plans, permits, material requisitions for capital expenditures, schedules/schedule changes and miscellaneous other documents ensuring accuracy, practicality, economics, and impact on other projects
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED and practical construction experience of which includes experience in management/supervisory role as defined by the job description.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree
• General knowledge of construction safety, planning, the ability to evaluate technical design data, develop and determine construction techniques and strategies.
• Experience managing a multi-disciplined staff in a proactive, value added manner.
• General knowledge of national codes and standards.
• General knowledge of environmental regulations
• General knowledge of DOE, Federal and state regulations as well as existing engineering and quality assurance standards and procedures

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energys Savannah River Sites Liquid Waste operations contract. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRMC is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders BWXT, Amentum, and Fluor.
