We are actively seeking a Construction Inspector who has experience overseeing and inspecting construction activities for municipalities, counties, and public and private utility projects to ensure compliance with design/construction drawings and details, specifications, regulations, and industry standards.   • Inspect construction sites for compliance with construction plans/drawings, details, specifications, and local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Monitor project progress and report upon work status, identifying potential challenges, deficiencies, non-conformance and/or delays.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, clients, residents, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and resolution of issues.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess overall site safety, maintenance and protection of traffic/pedestrian safety, workmanship, materials, and overall construction practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, tests, and project progress, including daily construction reports and photographs.
  • Coordinate with engineers and the project management team to ensure all necessary permits and approvals are in place before and during construction activities.
  • Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, change orders and contractor payment requisitions for compliance with project requirements.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, clients, regulatory agencies, residents/community members, and other stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior inspectors and interns as needed.
  • Stay current with industry standards, codes, and best practices related to municipal and utility construction.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Technologies or a related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in construction inspection, preferably with a focus on municipal infrastructure, and public and/or private utility projects.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal construction regulations and standards.
  • Strong understanding of safety practices and procedures, construction means and methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction sketches/plans/drawings, technical specifications, and construction details.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites.
