This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a landmark tunnel project and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety in construction. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and compliance of construction activities related to heavy civil engineering, including large shafts, excavation, and tunneling. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in similar projects and a keen eye for detail. Role Accountabilities:
  • Conduct daily inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Monitor and document progress, quality of workmanship, and adherence to approved methodologies.
  • Identify and report on non-conformance issues and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Verify materials and equipment used in construction meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to resolve inspection issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, reports, and documentation.
  • Assist in conducting safety inspections and ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel on-site.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to address technical queries and ensure project requirements are met.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide input on construction progress and quality assurance.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with specific experience in large shafts, excavation, and ideally tunneling.
Key Skills and Abilities:
  • Proven ability to conduct thorough inspections and enforce compliance with construction standards.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working on tunnel projects or similar large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with relevant software and tools for documenting inspections and managing construction activities.
