Job Duties:
* Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
* Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps and other temporary structures.
* Measure, shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines or power saw.
* Load, unload and identify building materials, machinery and tools, and distribute them to appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
* Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities.
* Prepare project layout and determine dimensions and material required as specified on blueprints.
* Construct, fit and install various structures within commercial projects such as doors, windows, flooring, cabinets and other permanent fixtures.
* Work with drills, nail guns, sanders and other tools on a regular basis. Maintain and sharpen tools.
* Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers and rakes.
* Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
* Other duties as assigned.
* May be assigned manager tasks and responsibilities on occasion outside of this scope of work in order to test aptitude.
Job Requirements:
* Some finish carpentry experience is preferred.
* No special education is required for this position. Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience may be helpful.
* The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects.
* Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction of commercial buildings.
* Ability to perform basic mathematics for the purpose of measuring and cutting materials accurately.
* Ability to read and build from a set of blueprints
* Prefer familiarly with tools commonly used by laborers and assembly of scaffolds.
* Must have a clean driving record.

CONSTRUCTION WORK SCHEDULE
This full-time Construction Laborer/Finish Carpenter position works 40+ hours per week, usually working an early schedule depending on the individual project.
