Construction/Maintenance Technician II

About the Position: This position is part of a team responsible for preventative maintenance, repair, or upkeep of buildings and grounds for Griffin Memorial Hospital & the Children's Recovery Center. This level performs general maintenance and repair work as well as some specialized skill work in the building trades. The ideal candidate has at least some exposure to plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and/or HVAC work, and is a self-starter - driven and accountable.

Job Type/Salary:

* 8 hour shifts, 5 days a week

* $16.58 hourly

* Some on-call may be required

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

* Four years of experience in one or more of the building trades, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Possesses a strong commitment to patient well-being and safety.

Special Requirements:

* Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 80 pounds, 25 pounds frequently, push and pull a maximum force of 40 pounds, and lift/hold overhead 40 pounds.

* Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver's license.

About us: Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) is located in Norman, Oklahoma, and serves all 77 counties in Oklahoma as a Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) treatment center for adults. Griffin Memorial Hospital is a 120-bed acute psychiatric hospital serving persons aged 18 and over with severe mental illness and provides in-patient hospital care for those in need of mental health & substance abuse services.
