The new test schedule is Monday thought Thursday from 7:00am until 5:00pm with an (1) one hour lunch and Fridays from 700am until 1100am with no lunch.**OPEN UNTIL FILLED**HIRING RANGE: $40,677 - $46,778 ANNUALLYHOURLY: $19.56 - $22.49GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORKPerforms responsible semiskilled work on a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair projectsOperates equipment in connection with tasksDoes related work as requiredWork is performed under regular supervisionESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS(These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed, the omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.)Performing a variety of semiskilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, and repair of public facilities such as streets, water and sewer lines, drainways and sidewalksOperates dump trucks, mowers, weed-eaters, chain saws, concrete mixers, trimmers, tractors, hydraulic winches, hoists, boom truck, rear loader and similar equipmentLoads and hauls materials to and from job sitesAssists in the installation of pipe in ditch lineAssists in the installation and repair of catch basinsCleans catch basins, manholes and sewer linesAssists with the installation and repair of water and sewer lines and related facilitiesAssists in the installation and removal of water metersAssists with spreading asphalt to repair potholes and utility cuts in streetsAssists in cleaning rights-of-way on public streets and propertyCuts limbsCollects limbsMows grass, sprays weedsInstalls and maintains erosion controlAssists with traffic control and flaggingAssists with setting up work zonesPerforms general landscaping and surface restoration at job sitesAssists with the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipmentAssists with snow removal and ice controlPerforms related tasks as required Typical QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESGeneral knowledge of the safe use, operation and preventive maintenance of the equipment to which assignedSkill in the use of equipment to which assignedAbility to understand and follow specific oral instructionsAbility to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditionsAbility to lift heavy articlesAbility to read and writeGood physical conditionAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or GED preferred and minimal experience in the operation of motorized equipment.
