It is through the diversity of our clients, their communities, and our team that we find the most innovative solutions and leave everything we touch better than when we found it.WSC is seeking a Construction Management Practice Leader to build, expand, and lead multi-disciplinary Construction Management teams in the successful delivery of a diverse range of water, recycled water, and wastewater infrastructure projects including treatment plants, pump stations, tanks, and pipelines. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of WSC's Construction Management practice by fostering client relationships, leading project teams, and mentoring staff.This position will be in California, preferably based in one of our established office locations in Southern California including San Diego, Orange County, and Ontario.What You Will Do
  • Lead strategy, business planning, growth, and day-to-day operations for WSC's Construction Management practice including recruiting, staff mentoring and development, business development and marketing, project leadership, client relationship management, risk management, quality assurance, and workload allocation.
  • Assume the primary role of overseeing project leadership by administering and managing contracts for both WSC and respective clients. Oversee and direct construction projects on site, from conception to completion.
  • Lead and develop multi-disciplinary construction management teams in the delivery of a wide range of water, wastewater, recycled water, and storm water infrastructure projects.
  • Manage ongoing projects to maintain scope, schedule, communications, budget, and manage risk, ensuring effective, efficient and successful project delivery.
  • Serve as the lead CM on projects, including but not limited to project management, meeting facilitation, alternatives analysis, dispute resolution, and decision making.
  • Develop detailed construction management plans and project approaches.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement project QA/QC plans, document control standards and other project documentation.
  • Prepare high-quality written work products including technical memoranda, daily reports, as-built drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Lead project pursuits including proposal development and interview preparation.
  • Lead client service management to develop new client relationships, strengthen existing client relationships, and identify future business opportunities.
  • Maintain active communication and build rapport with clients, community members, subconsultants, and end customers throughout the construction process.
  • Liaison with regulatory agencies, public officials, and others.
  • Lead presentations to boards, city councils, the public, and the media.
  • Manage and mentor team members and project professionals.
  • Attend industry events and conferences as required for client networking and partnering opportunities.
  • Monitor and take responsibility for revenue generation and profitability.
What You Bring
  • A passion for water, with an emphasis on creating multi-benefit solutions for communities and the environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or related engineering field preferred.
  • PMP and CCM registration highly desirable.
  • Proficient with MS Office, Primavera P6, and construction management software.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the construction of water, wastewater and/or recycled water facilities.
  • Working knowledge of water industry standards and regulations as they pertain to the construction of water, wastewater, and recycled water construction.
  • Valid California Class C license with a clean driving record.
  • OSHA 30 required.
  • Safety and quality training / certifications preferred.
