SUMMARY: Manages all aspects of work sites, resources, subcontractors and project progress. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned. •Hire subcontractors and assign work accordingly. •Create cost estimates for projects and take care of the budget. •Collaborate with subcontractors to determine budget and timeline. •Purchase materials and equipment. •Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers. •Maintain construction schedules and tracking system to track and report all phases of project to management as necessary. •Regularly reports on status of projects, either in person or through written reports/correspondence. •Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines. •Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient. •Schedules and oversees all phases of construction from permit to finish. •Coordinates all necessary inspections. •Possesses and maintains knowledge of OSHA requirements; implements OSHA guidelines and programs •Enforces safety guidelines and promotes a safe workplace. •Resolve construction site problems. Requirements SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises subcontractors. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Prefer a Bachelor's degree in construction or similar field. Minimum five (5) years' experience required, or equivalent education plus experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver's license with good driving record. Construction manager or superintendent certification is preferred. Must be able to pass a drug test and a background check to obtain a gaming license. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents including drawings and specifications, proficiency in MS Office, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Construction Superintendent Created June 2024 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to pass written and physical exams. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, coworkers and customers. Excellent organizational skills, strong multitasking skills, strong time management skills, ability to complete projects on time, and strong decision making skills. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as, but not limited to, tables, scaffolds, and cabinets. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
